I have told my kids that tomorrow we are going on a great
adventure, because really that is what this trip feels like. Truthfully though these last few weeks have
already seemed like a great adventure, with finishing up our Both Hands
project, buying plane tickets, an unexpected surgery (part of my thyroid
removed), Christmas and preparing to leave.
We are so thankful and have seen the Lord provide for us through so many
people through many gifts given towards our adoption, many meals brought to our
home, and lots of help with our kids (thanks mom and dad!). Thank you so much
to our friends and family that have gotten us to this point.
This trip is mainly about going to bring home our little Ava
Maye but we are also doing a lot of other things on this trip. I will give a brief itinerary in case you
don’t want to read about everything we are doing and then you can just check in at the part where we get Ava. J
Dec 28th- leave for Shanghai
Dec 29th- Jan 4th- in Shanghai with
friends (yay!) Dennis furiously lesson planning from afar
Jan 4th- train down to Guangzhou
Jan 6th- We get to visit SWA’s partner orphanages
for Christmas in the Orphanage, a program our agency does each year
Jan 7-11th- in Guangzhou? Still undecided

think this is the day we will meet Ava (still need one more piece of paperwork)
Jan 12-25th- in Guangzhou finishing up the

Please pray for safe and smooth travels and that we might
even sort of enjoy the long flight?? Yea, probably not.
